FAQs

What does a postpartum doula do?

A postpartum doula nurtures the family after birth (or adoption!). I tailor my support to your unique needs - this could be newborn care, household help, emotional support, or education. I love helping you thrive during those first few weeks and months with your baby. I provide daytime or overnight care and even travel care if needed!

What types of families do you support?

I support ALL families. This is a safe space for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC folks as well as adoptive and foster parents.

How do we pay you?

On the last day of each month, I will send out an invoice. You can easily pay it online via Stripe - just like you would when you shop online. Make sure you keep your invoices for possible tax write-offs.

What is ‘gentle’ sleep coaching?

I use this term to distinguish my approach from sleep training programs that are inflexible and often lead to lots of tears. When we work together, we will tune into your child and implement changes gradually and with compassion. Yes, your child may still cry or protest but they will not be left alone to deal with their feelings. Additionally, you as a parent will be encouraged to follow your intuition and to respond to your child calmly and confidently.

We are not sure what we need yet - can we still contact you?

No worries, we can figure it out together. Your needs might also change over time. I started out as a date night sitter for one of my nanny families, for example, and once they realized they needed more support, they ended up hiring me as a nanny.
